Software Engineer, Frontend
Job Description
As a Software Engineer on the Engineering team at Basebuild, you will own and lead engineering projects that define the design and user experience of our AI-native products. This role is initially focused on frontend and could eventually evolve into a full stack role should you desire.
We are a small team of highly competent, incredibly motivated, and deeply considerate people. Everything we touch is polished to high standards extending to all aspects of our work—from design to architecture to code to team communication.
We are looking for individuals that are excited about building innovative AI-native applications for one of the largest and most important sectors in the United States. Knowledge of the real estate and construction domain is not required, but a passion for building for customers in this sector is a must. Job Requirement
## Responsibilities
- **Scale:** Build state-of-the-art progressive web apps (PWA) that can scale with our user base.
- **Collaborate:** Work closely with and support full stack and AI engineers with integrating frontend and backend systems.
- **Design excellence:** Strong design aesthetic that elevates design and UX standards across Basebuild.
- **Design system:** Build, maintain, and extend our design system and reusable component library.
- **Quality control:** Ensure all code being pushed to the frontend is excellent.
## **Qualifications**
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role. Additionally, you may be a strong fit for this role if the following applies:
- Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and CSS (we use MUI).
- Track record of building fast-growing SaaS products by leveraging PWA technologies.
- Track record of shipping highly intuitive products, with a strong attention to detail.
- Critical eye for great design.
- Grit—experience working at early-stage startups will enable success in this role.
